Today we are taking my brother Mike out for his birthday. It seems like yesterday when we were kids and his birthday cake consisted of chocolate icing and m&m's. Time really does fly. It's funny how with each passing year our needs change. When Mike was a kid, any pack of sports cards would do... now, any tickets to a game will do. Well... maybe not any, they have to have good seats!
A birthday should be a special day to be celebrated. It doesn't matter the age - you only get one for that year and as we all know, you are not promised another one. Why do we stop at just a birthday to make personally special? Shouldn't everyday be treated as a birthday? Without cake and gifts of course! Scratch that, - include the cake! You all know the feeling I'm talking about - you wake up and just know it's a special day! Why not wake up and just know today is going to be a special day. Why should I? or for what reason? you may ask. Because with each new day comes a new beginning - a chance for you to call that long lost person in your life... a chance to say I love you.... a chance to light a heart with a genuine smile. Most importantly, each new day offers you a chance to accept grace...John 6:47... What greater gift exists!
I will be leaving you all a link to add some humor for the day... If you know someone celebrating a birthday please share this link. We all need to laugh and look on the bright side (or not so bright side) of yet another year TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Happy Birthday!
